When to Go

With so many interesting places to visit in Bakersfield, it's difficult to choose one season over another. Spring temperatures averaging in the 50's make it a great time to attend the many outdoor sports and festivals. Summer, with daytime temperatures averaging in the mid-80's, allow the visitor to enjoy the many parks and water activities. The Fall is a great time to experience the Kern County Fair, a local favorite. Enjoy a brisk walk in the winter where temperatures seldom fall below 40 degrees or visit one of the many museums.
